Climate protection
Use of Renewable Energy
We use renewable energy and operate environmental and energy management systems. The environmental management systems at our production sites in Germany and Poland are certified to ISO 14001. The energy management system at our main site in Germany is certified to ISO 50001.
Our climate protection strategy
A decentralized energy supply based on renewable energy is at the heart of our business. Our systems and solutions enable the generation, storage, and management of electricity from renewable sources.
At the same time, the energy demand within our own business operations and supply chain results in negative climate impacts. We address these through our climate protection strategy, which focuses on the decarbonization of the energy supply, resource management, and mobility.
As part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), SMA Solar Technology AG has set science-based GHG reduction targets: Target dashboard - Science Based Targets Initiative.
