Ethical business practices

Acting ethically, sustainably and with integrity at all times
Our customers, employees and shareholders can rely on the SMA Group to act responsibly, with integrity and always in accordance with the applicable legal requirements and regulations as well as recognized international ethical standards in all its business activities. We take our corporate responsibility seriously and treat others with respect. We have anchored this philosophy of always acting with integrity, responsibility and lawfulness in the SMA Compliance Charter.
Value-based compliance culture
Our compliance management relies on a value-based approach and the promotion of the compliance culture. A high level of acceptance of the rules among employees and an understanding of the objectives and values on which the rules are based are of great importance for effective compliance management.
All employees of the SMA Group are obliged to act ethically in accordance with the guidelines and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in the course of their work for the company. The Code of Conduct for Employees formulates our values and clear standards of conduct for all employees. Regular compliance training ensures awareness of this and imparts the necessary knowledge. We do not tolerate corruption in our own business or among our business partners and are actively committed to the “Business Principles for Countering Bribery” of Transparency International.
