Area of action: Employees
Living our values and creating scope for responsible, entrepreneurial action
The high level of commitment and willingness of our employees to always learn are essential factors in SMA's success. We continuously develop our corporate culture and put our values of trust, performance and team spirit into practice in our day-to-day work, creating scope for responsible, entrepreneurial action and opportunities for shaping international collaboration.
Occupational health & safety
The safety and health of our employees is a high priority for us. Our focus is on the prevention of work-related accidents and illnesses as well as on holistic health promotion and ergonomics as part of SMA’s health management.
The processes for occupational health and safety at our headquarters in Germany have been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 45001 since 2018.
Fair pay & benefits
It is important to us to acknowledge our employees’ commitment and performance through appropriate remuneration in line with the market as well as comprehensive company benefits. Our global job level model and the associated remuneration system help create transparency and enable comparison of pay across all areas of the company.
The overall package for our employees also includes monetary and non-monetary company benefits such as a share in the company’s success, lifelong working-time accounts, company pension schemes and family-oriented services as part of our family service.
Diversity & equal opportunities
SMA is committed to diversity and equal opportunities. We see the diversity of our employees as an asset to our company. In joining the “Charta der Vielfalt” (Diversity Charter) in 2011, we undertook to create a work environment in which all employees have the same opportunities for development, regardless of gender, nationality, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual orientation. In particular, we have set ourselves ambitious targets for increasing the proportion of women in the overall workforce and in management positions, and we are promoting gender diversity and cultural diversity in the company with targeted measures.
