Sustainability management
Holistic and integrated approach

Responsibility and respect along the entire value chain
Responsible and respectful treatment of people, the environment and resources with increasing use of renewable energies in all parts of the value chain are at the heart of our sustainability management. Focusing on the material sustainability-related topics for the company ensures a high level of effectiveness.
Focused on material topics
We define the focal points for our sustainability management with the help of a materiality assessment. In accordance with the principle of double materiality, we take into account the actual and potential material impacts of the company on people and the environment along the value chain on the one hand, and the opportunities and risks that affect or may affect the company's earnings position on the other. We address the topics identified as material for the company – climate protection, circular economy, employees, human rights and ethical business practices – as part of our sustainability strategy. We have set ourselves ambitious targets to improve our sustainability performance and defined measures to achieve them. We report on this in detail in our Sustainability Statement in the Annual Report 2024.

ESG Ratings and Rankings
External ESG ratings and rankings give our stakeholders access to a transparent and independent assessment of our sustainability performance. Corporate Knights, a media and research company specializing in sustainability, ranks us 6th in its annual Global 100 Index of the world's most sustainable companies in 2025. We also receive high ratings from internationally recognized ESG rating agencies:
