The SMA backup solution adds a powerful battery-backup function to the Sunny Boy Smart Energy hybrid inverter. In the event of a power outage, the system automatically switches to off-grid mode and continues to reliably supply power to the entire household.

Available as an external box for single-phase systems (SMA Backup 1P) or as a compact DIN rail kit for three-phase installations (SMA Backup 3P Kit), this solution provides efficient and safe battery backup—with standby self-consumption of less than 1 W.

When combined with the Sunny Boy Smart Energy hybrid inverter and the SMA Home Storage battery, it forms a comprehensive, well-engineered solution for reliable power supply—even during a power outage.
