SMA at the Intersolar: From kilowatt to megawatt worldwide.

Solar inverters and monitoring solutions from kilowatt to megawatt: a concept which documents SMA Solar Technology AG convincingly at the Intersolar 2009 with a variety of innovations. Visitors can see the innovative strength of the worldwide leading manufacturer of solar inverters at SMA's booth no. 230 in hall B4 and in the outdoor area (FG 110).

Among the innovations that SMA will present at the Intersolar is for example the central inverter Sunny Central 630HE. With a peak efficiency of 98.6 percent and a wide input voltage range, this device contributes to reducing the total system costs. Furthermore, it fulfils already today the requirements of the BDEW guideline (medium voltage guidelines), valid as of mid 2010. Two Sunny Central HE devices can be connected to one medium voltage station that SMA will present in the outdoor area at the Intersolar (FG 110).

The new Sunny Tripower 10000TL, 12000TL, 15000TL and 17000TL are also designed for feeding in reactive power. They can therefore reliably participate in grid management in compliance with the BDEW guideline. Furthermore, SMA inverters of the new three-phase series offer a maximum of flexibility upon system design and a comprehensive safety concept thanks to the new Multi-String concept.

Also the Sunny Mini Central 9000TL, 10000TL and 11000TL with Reactive Power Control actively participate in grid management. They are the ideal solution in case the energy supply company requires to provide reactive power at the feed-in point.

The Power Reducer Box enables the operator to connect his system to the grid in accordance with the EEG (German Renewable Energy Act) and the medium voltage guideline. This comprises, among other things, that the grid operator can temporarily limit the PV system's power within the framework of grid management using remote control. On request, the Sunny WebBox automatically transmits data to the Sunny Portal – the system operator is thus immediately informed about the grid operator's specifications.

"SMA Bluetooth® – More intelligently connected" is the motto of the new Sunny Beam with Bluetooth which will be also presented at the Intersolar. For operators of smaller roof-mounted systems, the elegant table top device is the ideal monitoring solution: no installation costs, easy to operate and award-winning design. Using Bluetooth as well, the free monitoring software Sunny Explorer communicates with the inverters. Every PC or notebook with Bluetooth complying with the system requirements can be used for wireless control and configuration.

The Sunny Island 2012, available since the beginning of this year, has rounded off SMA's product range in the off-grid area in the lower power range. Interested visitors can also inform themselves about the innovative Sunny Backup system at the SMA booth. As an add-on to the PV system, this system available in different set sizes switches automatically to off-grid electricity supply within milliseconds in case of a grid failure. By integrating a small battery bank, the Sunny Backup system, after having achieved the so-called grid parity, may play an important role in the subject of "individual use of solar power", says CEO Günther Cramer.

The Sunny PRO Club, the successful SMA partner program for solar specialists, already has more than 500 members all over Germany and has been successfully introduced in the US as well. If you would like to learn more about the club news as well as the entire offer, you will find competent persons in charge and comprehensive material at the SMA booth at the Intersolar.
