SMA hybrid inverter makes solar energy use even more convenient for household

The new Sunny Tripower Smart Energy hybrid inverter from SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) now expands the possibilities of the SMA Energy System Home. With the compact 2-in-1 device, households and smaller commercial businesses now use self-generated solar energy even more flexibly. For example, for the cost-saving operation of heat pumps and e-charging stations, which are easily connected via integrated interfaces. With its fast charging and discharging performance, the three-phase hybrid inverter ensures maximum battery utilization even in changeable weather. The integrated automatic backup power supply ensures the continued operation of consumers in the household in the event of grid failures.

“With the Sunny Tripower Smart Energy, SMA has set another milestone for an independent, cost-effective and climate-friendly energy supply,” says Jan Van Laethem, Executive Vice President of the Home Solutions business unit at SMA. “The new hybrid inverter is an innovative extension of the SMA Energy System Home and ideal for modern, straightforward solar power generation, use and storage.” In this way, we enable our customers to significantly reduce not only their electricity costs, but also the cost of transportation and heating, while at the same time fulfilling their demand for sustainable energy supply and climate protection.”

Using more solar power in the home – 24 hours a day
The DC-coupled Sunny Tripower Smart Energy is available on the market in the 5 kW, 6 kW, 8 kW and 10 kW power classes and is thus ideal for use primarily in the home. It is compatible with DC-coupled high-voltage batteries from leading manufacturers. PV system operators also benefit from the high achievable charging power of up to 30 A, which ensures a full battery even with few hours of sunshine. Sustainable solar power is thus available in the home 24 hours a day.

Power even in the event of grid failure
The new hybrid inverter can be used in both new and existing PV systems. The integrated backup power supply ensures an uninterrupted and secure power supply for selected home appliances even in the event of grid failure.
The hybrid inverter is easy to install in just a few steps and can be commissioned intuitively and quickly using the SMA 360° installer app without any need to open the device. The inverter features SMA ShadeFix software for maximum energy yields in the case of light shading and the highest system safety, as well as SMA Smart Connected automatic inverter monitoring.
The compact two-in-one dievice is now available in the 5 kW, 6 kW, 8 kW and 10 kW power classes.
