The Digitalization team of approx. 150 team members sees itself as an innovation driver and company-wide business partner in the digitalization of end-to-end process as well as the provision of state-of-the-art technological platforms and IT infrastructure. As a trainee, you have the chance to gain intensive insights into all topics relevant to digitalization: Process Management, Master Data Management, Applications & Infrastructure. You will actively work in agile and interdisciplinary project teams and learn in an environment of state-of-the-art cloud-based systems. Through national and international trainee stations to other areas of the company, you will gain an understanding of the business “demand” for digitalization and build a network.

The Large Scale Business Segment offers you the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of international large-scale project business. A wide range of tasks and topics await you here and you will gain insights into various areas. During your trainee journey, you will learn how the multi-faceted segment works - from portfolio management, the development of sales and marketing strategies and project management to the technological development of innovative products and services. Whatever your background, you will be immersed in a dynamic and international environment that successfully implements major projects on a global scale.

In the Commercial & Industrial Solutions Business Segment, we develop integrated energy solutions for commercial and industrial applications. Our SMA Energy System encourages our commercial customers to make their energy supply and mobility climate-neutral. Be active as a trainee in our exciting global projects for business and industry and learn how our customers become independent from self-generated solar energy and save up to 80% energy costs. You will immerse yourself in our value-added processes, learn about our customer requirements and help shape them. During your trainee journey, you can help define our product portfolio, develop business and marketing strategies or support development projects for the customization or realization of the portfolio. You will work closely with colleagues from the different subject areas and learn about our global markets in our subsidiaries.

In the Home Solutions Business Segment, we develop integrated energy solutions for the private household. As a trainee, you will learn how our customers can not only generate solar energy with our SMA Energy System, but also make optimum use of the solar power generated throughout the house. You will deal with topics such as how household appliances can be supplied with solar power, how electric vehicles can be charged in a climate-neutral way and how heating can be controlled in a cost-optimized way. Help shape our future issues and support our team in various key areas, from defining marketing and business strategies, portfolio and product management to international project management. Set your own focus depending on your study background and play an active role in the energy transition.

As a trainee in the Global Operations Business Segment, you will get to know the work in the entire value chain - from the supplier to the customer, from purchasing materials and services to manufacturing products and delivery through globally networked, intelligent, and efficient supply chains. Work in areas such as Global Supply Chain Management, Global Supply Chain After Sales or Global Logistics. During your traineeship, you will encounter exciting topics such as the construction and commissioning of a new logistics hall, the relocation of products overseas or sustainability and resilience concepts in the supply chain for customer-centric solutions.

Our Platform Development area develops products and solutions for future regenerative energy supply systems. Using state-of-the-art hardware and software development methods, we create smart digital energy systems that are world leaders and can be deployed in myriad applications. As a trainee, you will learn all about the product development process, explore a whole range of development-related aspects and contribute your process management or cost engineering ideas for our products. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the purchasing of the components we use, support the evolution of our digitalization road map and get involved in optimizing our development processes.
