UNHCR Refugee Camp Azraq – 2 MW
Utility-scale PV power plant – Jordan, 2017
The UNHCR refugee camp Azraq has been built in a desert area in northern Jordan and gives home to 20,000 refugees from Syria living in 5,000 shelters. EPC Mustakbal has installed 33 Sunny Tripower 60 inverters in the PV power plant which is going to be upgraded to a 5 MW plant. It will cover all electricity needs from the people living in the camp and the extra electricity will be sent back free of cost in the national grid, supporting the host community energy needs.
