Country Manager - Mexico

The Country Manager – Mexico is responsible for building and growing business in the targeted region. This entails successfully positioning and promoting company’s Solar and Storage Inverter complete solutions and associated Service offerings (across Residential, Commercial, Utility, Storage segments) for effective achievement of company’s business objectives for the territory. Requires building and managing a small in-region team to ramp immediate business volumes and revenues in line with corporate expectations. Position will lead the evolution of strategic partnerhips with key customers at the most Senior level and reports directly into the company’s Executive Leadership team in North America.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the regional in-country strategy for Mexico in conjunction with Executive Management
  • Leads, motivates and develops the sales department
  • Identifies, develops, builds and grows relationships with key strategic partners (Developers, EPCs, Utilities, End Users)
  • Responsible for managing and reporting on all aspects of the business and meeting/exceeding established annual volume/revenue Budget for region
  • Ensures customer feedback/input is fed into internal teams as required for marketing/product development purposes
  • Proactively identifies and advises internal Mgmt of competitive landscape in region and identifies regional Marketing opportunities
  • Recommends, plans, organizes and attends relevant industry trade shows, events, conferences as required
  • Full use of company CRM system to manage and report on business
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor´s degree in Electrical Engineering or Business Administration combined with a keen affinity for technical products
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in (in-)direct selling and distributing sophisticated, technically oriented products, ideally in an internationally oriented company
  • Leadership experience with strong interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated ability to motivate, build trust, gain support and instill accountability
  • Understanding of Residential, Commercial and Utility-scale Solar market in Mexico, along with all aspects of current technologies, market drivers, key initiatives, competitive landscape, customers, industry alliances
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills at Exec level
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English and Spanish language required
  • Proficiency in all standard office computer software packages and tools, along with online CRM (SFDC/SAP) systems
  • Strong analytic skills to analyze/assess data, solve complex problems quickly and effectively
  • Effective time management, prioritization and self-management ability to run multiple tasks/projects in parallel
  • Willingness to travel extensively both domestically and internationally
