Country Manager Brazil m/f

Management position for our subsidiary SMA Brazil in Campinas

 

In this role, the Country Manager will have full accountability for our sales subsidiary responsible for the Brazilian market. The holder of this position will lead the subsidiary with a strong focus on sales and ensure the effective operation and administration of all other aspects for the success of the business. He or she will be the first point of contact for any Brazil-related topic for internal parties (e.g. SMA South America in Chile, SMA America in the US, SMA Headquarters in Germany) as well as external parties, including but not limited to customers and local authorities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the subsidiary, primarily in sales and administration while continuously focusing on the company’s strategic goals
  • Responsible for the comprehensive sales management of all SMA products within the Brazilian market by providing professional technical solutions and consulting 
  • Monitoring and analysing sales and market trends, being responsible for commercial proposals and strategic planning for the Brazilian Market
  • Maintenance and development of existing business relationships as well as acquirement of new customers
  • Motivating employees in a continually changing environment with unforeseeable situations
  • Ensure the effective operation of the subsidiary in Brazil to achieve the company sales and business goals


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering with experience in a commercial/business environment or a post-graduation degree in Business Administration, preferably with experience within the energy sector
  • Several years of experience in sales and administration
  • Proven experience developing and managing an industrial company, preferably in a multinational environment
  • Experience in initiating, negotiating and closing contracts with key, small and medium business accounts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to motivate, build trust, gain support and instill accountability in line with SMA’s Corporate Culture, including with external partners
  • Highly customer and success-oriented, flexible and able to work as part of a team
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to roll up his or her sleeves and act with a problem-solving mindset
  • Very good English and Portuguese language skills, Spanish or German knowledge are a plus
  • Willingness to undergo further training and travel both domestically and internationally

  • Reports to the Managing Director of SMA in South America
