Sales Manager-South (Location: Hyderabad) m/f

The Sales Manager is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, generating, and facilitating sales of SMA products in the specified territory, using the strategic selling approach. Duties include leading an aggressive build-up of SMA’s market share by expanding businesses, partnerships, developing new relationships, and entering new markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhances, builds, and manages the company’s direct sales operations in the specified territory, including setting future strategic sales direction
  • Guides product development and marketing activities to ensure that the product lines clearly reflect market requirements in residential and commercial market segments
  • Successfully executes a brand and messaging strategy that positions SMA as an industry leader in the alternative energy industry
  • Initiates and implements strategic alliances with key partners-distributors/System Integrators and customers
  • Identifies market opportunities both within and outside of traditional client base, and develops strategies to penetrate those markets
  • Prepares an accurate forecast for SMA India product line
  • Participates in trade shows and conferences
  • Provides outstanding customer support
  • Serves as a liaison with management teams in both, India and Germany to ensure that sales targets are defined and met
  • Other duties as required or assigned


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Business Administration combined with a keen affinity for technical products
  • Represents a combination of a customer-oriented sales professional and an engineer who has 7-10 years of working experience in the indirect selling and distribution of sophisticated technical products, ideally in an internationally-oriented company
  • Excellent communication skills and good technical knowledge, coupled with a dynamic approach to sales
  • Success-oriented, flexible and a team player
  • Past experience in solar sales (Rooftop Solutions) involving local clients is an advantage
  • Should have experience in handling customers directly as well as through channel

  • Reports to the Managing Director of SMA-India
