Sales Engineer m/f

This position will be based out of the SMA India Office in Mumbai/Delhi.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sales of SMA inverters for grid-connected, off grid solar systems as well as the associated communications technology
  • Sets ambitious targets and devises concrete plans to achieve them
  • Work on the annual plans with channel partners, negotiate and follow up contracts, monitor performance
  • Maintains and expands business with existing local key accounts , acquires new channel partners and direct customers
  • Recruit the right channel partners and make them stake holders with equal responsibility for business development in their areas
  • To nurture / develop a relationship between the channel partner and the organization for mutual benefit
  • Successfully build and grow revenue within your assigned territory and achieve (or exceed) sales goals
  • Support partners on customer visits, sales training, product information etc.
  • Identify sales prospects including Cold Calling and other relevant customer discovery techniques
  • Ensuring distributors maintain the minimum stock levels at all times
  • Coordination with selected Nodal Agencies
  • Prepares tenders for photovoltaic projects
  • Attends trade shows and conferences
  • Be able to work independently with little supervision and direction
  • Maintain commercial discipline in sales


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor´s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Business Administration combined with a keen affinity for technical products
  • Represents a combination of a customer-oriented Sales Professional and an Engineer who has 2 to 5 years of working experience in the indirect selling and distribution of sophisticated technical products, ideally in an internationally-oriented company
  • Excellent communication skills and good technical knowledge, coupled with a dynamic approach to sales
  • Success-oriented, flexible and a team player
  • Past experience in solar sales (Rooftop Solutions) involving local clients is an advantage.
  • Should have experience in handling customers directly as well as through channel

  • Reports to the Sales Manager of SMA India
