Superfast setup, reliable monitoring, secure yields

Monitoring, remote diagnosis, data storage, configuration and visualization from anywhere in the world –  the Sunny WebBox.
In the new version, we now have a monitoring solution developed especially for photovoltaic plants up to 100 kW, which will make operation even simpler. This is because the new Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth assures yields quickly and efficiently: it communicates without cables, is simple to configure and
therefore easy to operate.

Wireless Communication

The Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth communicates wirelessly via Bluetooth Wireless Technology. And the data logger not only receives measured values and data from solar inverters via radio link. The values from Sunny SensorBox devices can also be transmitted via Bluetooth. This means you can stay updated on the status of your PV plant around the clock.

Installation in just six steps

Thanks to the new Sunny WebBox Assistant, setup could not be simpler. The data logger setup is completed in just six steps. And the new user interface of the Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth displays the yields of each inverter at a glance in well-structured day-by-day and history views.

Simple setup with the Sunny WebBox Assistant

What do DNS, DHCP and NAT ports have in common? Right, these are all terms used in network technology. If you do not happen to be familiar with such details, we have good news for you. As from now, you no longer need any computer know-how to commission the Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth. Thanks to the new Sunny WebBox Assistant.

Handling of the data logger has become much simpler. Thus, the Sunny WebBox Assistant will help you to install the Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth, without having to be any kind of network specialist. You can set all essential parameters with the aid of this free software, e.g. time settings, IP addresses, file formats, data for Sunny Portal registration and if required, access from a proxy server. You can also simply go straight to the Sunny WebBox web interface. The entire installation takes less than ten minutes, so you save valuable time.

Commissioning the new WebBox in 6 short steps

1. Logging into the Sunny WebBox

In Step 1, you can log in as an operator (“0000”) or as an installer (“1111”).

2. Selecting the installation type

Here, you can select whether to link the Sunny WebBox into a new plant or into an existing plant which has already been registered in Sunny
Portal. You can also opt to carry out a device replacement.

3. Defining system settings

In Step 3, you must define a name for the device or for the PV plant. Here, you also set the time and the option for automatic updates of the Sunny WebBox.

4. Configuring network settings

There are two options for network settings. Option one: If your computer is integrated in the same network as the Sunny WebBox, the assistant will suggest an IP address. Option two: you have a DHCP server in your network. In this case, the assistant receives alternating IP addresses from the router.

5. Selecting data settings

In Step 5, you can click options defining whether the Sunny Portal is to be used for monitoring, management and presentation of your PV plants. Here, you can also define formats for saving data on an FTP server or an SD card. You can choose between the common formats CSV and XML.

6. Saving a summary

Installation is now almost complete. All you need to do now is save the data, do a print-out for your files, as required, and start the connection test. The Sunny WebBox Assistant automatically transfers all entries to the Sunny WebBox and concludes the commissioning process.

Link-up

The Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth acts as interface between inverter and plant monitoring system.

It is receptive for many things: for instance, for the yields of SMA inverters or the meteorological data from a Sunny SensorBox. The new-generation inverters are as as standard configured for Bluetooth communication. This makes complicated wiring a thing of the past. The Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth then transmits the data to the presentation software Flashview, the large-format display board Sunny Matrix, the Sunny Portal or any internet-compatible end device.

In action: The Sunny WebBox with Bluetooth is ideally suited for industrial PV plants up to 100 kW. In the event of grid overload, PV plants must be able to reduce the feeding-in power via remote control as of - and including - a limit of 100 kilowatt. This is a requirement of the Directive "Generating Plants Connected to the Medium-Voltage Network" of the BDEW (Federal Association of German Energy and Water Industries). For remote-controlled reduction, the SMA product range offers the Power Reducer Box, which however can only be used in combination with the cable-connected Sunny WebBox.

One click. Everything at a glance.

Professional monitoring of PV plants with Sunny Portal.

The Sunny Portal is the perfect complement for any Sunny WebBox. This free online platform has now advanced to the status of the world's largest portal for management, monitoring and presentation of PV plants. You can access the key plant data via the Internet. And should discrepancies in performance occur, Sunny Portal will raise the alarm as required on any internet-compatible end device.

Sunny Portal Mobile and iPhone App

PV plant monitoring, management, and presentation – now at your fingertips with Sunny Portal Mobile or the new Sunny Portal iPhone app. Never before has it been so simple and intuitive to access the most important PV plant data when you’re out and about. That means you’ll receive information right away – anytime, anywhere – on yields, events, as well as plant and operator information.
