Adapter Set for the connection of PV Strings
The Adaptor Set serves as connector of the PV Generator or the DC cable of the PV Generator to a Sunny Boy or a Sunny Mini Central. It consists of a cable with plus and minus adaptor as well as a seal. The Set is available for plug connectors from Multi-Contact (old and new styles) as well as Tyco.
Electronic Solar Switch (ESS)
The Electronic Solar Switch circuit-breaker separates the inverter safely from the PV generator. It operates in grid-feeding mode absolutely loss-free and impedes direct contact with the plug connector. Thus it guarantees the highest operational safety in all installation and maintenance work.
The ESS is integrated into the inverter. Thus, extra cable work for the inclusion of a DC circuit-breaker during the construction of a PV system is not required.
RS485 Piggy Back and Data Module for plant communication
Whether for planning a new PV plant or for the expansion of an existing plant communication: plant yields can be continuously monitored with the SMA communications interfaces. From the Piggy Back to the Data Module - cable connected or with wireless Bluetooth® technology - SMA offers a self-developed communication system with a multitude of robust interfaces from the industrial area of application.
Subsequent expansions are possible without problem thanks to the modular design principle.
Power Module for power supply to areas that are difficult to reach
The Power Module is useful when there are no plug sockets within reach. It allows for the power supply of a device (e.g. the SMA Bluetooth Repeater or the SMA Bluetooth Power Injector) via the internal voltage supply of the SMA inverter. The Data Module type is necessary as communications connection to the inverter.
Connector system for Communication
The optional communication interfaces from Sunny Boy and Sunny Mini Central can be pre formatted with the plug-socket combination That relieves you of assembly of the communications system later. The termination resistor can be integrated into the plug.

Sunny Boy Grounding Set for transformer inverters.
It can be necessary when using thin-layer modules and back-to-back cells to ground the positive or negative connection of the PV generator. With the Grounding Set we offer you the optimal solution for this.
The Grounding Set offers the following advantages:
- The set is available for both the positive and also negative grounding.
- Due to the internal grounding, changing the external generator cabling is not required which saves time.
- The grounding is fused by an internal thermal fuse and therefore provides additional safety (fire protection).
- With the Grounding Set they can be seamlessly integrated into the inverter. Thus the isolation monitoring remains completely preserved. This important safety feature of SMA devices can identify possible insulation failures within the generator.
Your module manufacturer can provide you with up-to-date information on the necessity and type of grounding.
USB-Service-Interface
Whether commissioning or in service - with the USB service interface you can quickly and easily either sort the inverter data or change it. It is equipped with a USB Piggy-Back for the inverter and a USB plug for connection to a PC or laptop. The USB service interface is suitable for Sunny Boys and Sunny Mini Centrals.

Varistors
Varistors protect the input port of the inverter from dangerous surge voltages. If the surge voltage is too great, then the varistors will be destroyed. Replacement is simple and possible at all times. We include the dedicated tool in the delivery.
Sunny Main Box
For the construction of large PV power stations: You require the Sunny Main Box for DC distribution for system developments with Sunny Central 1000MV. They come with the IP 65 protection system and connection possibilities for up to 8 Sunny String Monitors or Sunny String Boxes.
You position the Sunny Main Box between the Sunny String Monitor and the Sunny Central.
SUNNY STRING-MONITOR
Detailed system control: The Sunny String Monitor monitors the PV generator by measuring and comparing individual string currents. Thus performance reductions will be safely recognized and be analyzed via Sunny Central Control. Delivered in a housing for wall mounting (IP65).
SUNNY CENTRAL Team
Profitable alternative to the Master-Slave concept. Sunny Central Team increases not only the energy yield, but also the availability of systems with several inverters. Since with Sunny Central Team, only inverters active are those necessary for feeding the present level of solar energy into the grid. This significantly improves efficiency, particularly under partial load. Applicable for two identical Sunny Centrals.
SUNNY CENTRAL CONTROL
The Sunny Central Control data logger is integrated into all Sunny Central inverters as standard. It enables detailed data recording and evaluation. All important inverter data can be displayed on the 4-line display and stored in the internal memory.
NET Piggy-Back
The integrated data logger Sunny Central Control forms the communication basis of Sunny Central devices. Here you can connect several Sunny Centrals, each with its own Ethernet NET Piggy-Back, to a switch or router. Thus it is possible for central monitoring of the complete PV system.
Sunny Remote Control 1
The external control unit SRC 1 enables an easy and fast commissioning of Sunny Islands 2224 and 2012 as well as of Sunny Backup 2200. Rotating push button and indicator light button ensure an intuitive operation, the four-line display shows the current system status. Saving data takes place via an SD card.
GenMan
Generator manager for the automatic commissioning of power units capable of remote control which need more than one starting contact. Different commissioning procedures, preheating and power-down times are selectable.
Compatible with Sunny Islands 5048, 4248, 3324, 2224 and 2012.
BatFuse A.01 and A.03
Inexpensive DC splitter which provides an all-pole battery fuse protection. Both types are suitable for currents from 125 up to 160 A and have a simple NH fuse holder. The BatFuse A.01 features a connection for Sunny Island and two DC connections on the battery side. the BatFuse A.03 has three connections for Sunny Island and four DC connections on the battery side.
Both types are compatible with Sunny Island 2224. The BatFuse A.01 can also be combined with the Sunny Backup 2200.
BatFuse B.01 and B.03
External DC splitter, which provides an all-pole battery fuse protection. Both types are suitable for currents from 125 up to 250 A and have an NH fuse switch disconnector for simple disconnection of the Sunny Islands. The BatFuse B.01 features a connection for Sunny Island and three DC connections on the battery side. the BatFuse B.03 has three connections for Sunny Island and six DC connections on the battery side. Both types have an additional 8A auxiliary supply output from the battery.
Compatible with all Sunny Islands.
DC-Cable
Cable for DC connection between battery, BatFuse and Sunny Island - or for the direct connection between battery and inverter. The doubled isolation facilitates a grounding- and short-circuit-proof installation. Cable temperatures of up to 90°C are allowable.
Versions:
- 35mm² for Sunny Island 2224 and sunny Backup 2200 in 2.4 and 6 meter lengths.
- 70mm² for Sunny Island 5048 and Sunny Backup 5000 in 3.6 and 9 meter lengths.
Load shedding protection SI-LS
Load shedding protection for the use of AC coupled island systems: In the event of energetic overload of the system, recharging the battery - e.g. via the PV system - is made possible through disconnecting the loads. In order that the fuse does not trip even during a short-circuit in the grid, DC fuses powered by the battery are inserted exclusively.
We offer various load shedding protectors for currents of 25, 40, 65 and 95 A as well as voltages of 48 and 24 V.
Compatible versions are available for all Sunny Islands.
Battery shunt/SI-Shunt
Measurement resistor for battery current measurement. Suitable for use with generators or consumers which cannot be measured via the Sunny Island. The battery shunts are available for maximum of DC currents of 200, 400, 600 and 800 A.
Compatible with Sunny Island 5048, 2224 and 2012 as well as Sunny Backup 5000.
Piggy-Backs for communication
For communication via RS232 and RS485, we offer you different Piggy Backs for add-on. Piggy Back for RS232 communication compatible with Sunny Island 5048, 4248 and 3324. Piggy Back for RS485 communication compatible with all Sunny Islands.
Multicluster Piggy-Back
For communication in Multicluster systems, one Piggy Back per cluster is necessary. The Piggy Backs are equipped additionally with an RS485 interface for the SMA Monitoring Bus. Included in the delivery: the communication cables for indoor use.
Compatible with Sunny Island 5048 and Sunny Backup 5000.
Outdoor communication cable
Fully assembled communication cable with RJ45 plug for outdoor installation Available in 2, 5, 10 and 20 meter lengths.


SMA Feed
